"SILLY BANDS" AT SCHOOL

Student Food Service PIN Numbers

The district nutritional program is implementing use of personal four-digit PIN numbers for students in grades K-5.  The PIN numbers will make serving lines more efficient and allow more time for students to focus on their lunch selections through our offer vs. serve program and daily salad bar. This will in turn accommodate increased meal choices and the relocation of our (Continued...)

Elementary Classroom Size

As many parents in the district are aware, approximately 14% of our elementary classrooms have grown to over 27 students.  Board Policy 501.33 states that in cases such as this, class size may reach 29 with special accommodations as determined by administration. Ankeny School District Reaches 8,500 Student Mark

Just one year after welcoming its 8,000th student, the Ankeny Community School District has achieved another milestone in growth. At the annual kickoff for district faculty held on August 16, seventh grader Pierce Edwards was introduced as the 8,500th student.  Secondary school buildings are now larger than some small colleges in Iowa and the district is approaching the (Continued...)
